Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. On most of those days it is open 9 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Watkins Diesel Repair LLC at (940) 372-1951; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

These guys are great. Truck broke down and wouldn’t start. Tow truck picked it up in a hour. They diagnosed it and found it was only a loose wire. Honest and prompt. 10/10 recommend

If you want a knowledgeable and trustworthy mechanic that provides excellent service for you in a timely manner, Zach is your man. Couldn't recommend him and his shop more, got my '06 6.0 king ranch back to me running better than it ever has.

I wanted to like this shop. It can be hard to find a good diesel shop. Took my 6.7 power stroke in for an upper oil pan gasket leak. Paid for the repair and took the truck. Soon after, noticed that the truck was still leaking. Owner said that it was an injector seal leaking and that he had seen it during the upper oil pan gasket job. I told him that I wish that he would have told me about it when I had the truck over there the first time. A few days went by and I text the owner and told him that I would like to see the injector seal that was leaking. It was then that he told me that the leak was actually the oil temperature sensor leaking and he had gone ahead and done the repair. I picked up my truck and drove home. When I got home I saw that my bumper that used to be welded to my service truck bed had popped 4 welds and was separated from the truck by about an inch and a half. I called the owner and they acted like they had no idea of how that could happen. They have cameras on the building but have never been able to produce an image of my truck being dropped off with a messed up bumper. Not only am I out the $4,000 for the original work but I’m also out another $1,

Zac Watkins really knows his business, I took my 97 Ford with a 7.3 to him with a no start and no run condition. He was initially thinking that it could be something simple but we weren’t so lucky. I hadn’t owned the truck very long when it started acting up with fuel delivery and injector issues and he discovered some plastic debris in the fuel system and that someone worked on the injectors that didn’t know what they were doing. He addressed and repaired all of my problems and the truck now starts great and runs great as well as a lot smoother. I have found a new mechanic that’s very knowledgeable as well as honest and economical. Thank you very much.
